TIME & SPACE LIMITED is an independent nonprofit arts centre in Hudson, NY originally established in 1973.

HISTORY

Time & Space Limited was founded in New York City in 1973 by Linda Mussmann, with Claudia Bruce joining as co-director in 1976. In 1991, TSL refused a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that mandated an anti-obscenity pledge. This, combined with rising costs in NYC led to TSL to relocate to Hudson, NY. 

From early days screening 16mm films, where members and visitors sat on wooden pews with cushions from home, to now operating two theaters equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection and Dolby surround sound. TSL has always believed that art brings people together and drives meaningful change. Today, TSL continues to offer programs of creative energy to this community and region, celebrating the art and artists of the past, present, and future. The belief that art is what holds us all together is why TSL does what it does.
